What makes her a boss
Q: What do you do?
A: I own and operate a small bespoke jewelry studio called Yummy & Company. I make one of a kind and limited edition jewelry. Like many before me, my collection of work is a result of an instinctual urge to leave a mark and is my humble attempt to reflect the fascinating and beautiful things I see in the world. My creative process is simple, I gather my materials and let the imagery come through naturally. Each piece reveals itself in its own time. My greatest accomplishment is usually figuring out when to stop adding details and letting the work speak to others!
Q: Tell us about a project you recently wrapped
A: One of my favorite parts of being an artist and small business is the community that I belong to! I'm part of the Charm City Craft Mafia, a small craft collective, that organizes and produces several amazing events each year for local and regional artists to sell and promote their work. It's thrilling to be able to create opportunities for other small businesses to grow and thrive. Our two most recent events, Holiday Heap and Last Stop Hops & Shop were incredible and served over 60 small businesses!
Q: What makes you go to work each day?
A: I do believe it's an instinctual urge! Humankind, as a whole, has always been creative, be it through cave painting, hand formed figurines, stone carving, what have you! I really enjoy being a part of this long history of making. Leaving behind small relics of creation, that hopefully reflect my experiences and reactions to life feels like such a natural act! Having a business that supports this notion is such a blessing!
Q: Tell us about a dream project or client.
A: Making new family heirlooms are my favorite projects! Any chance I get to work with enthusiastic customers who want to create personal customized gifts for loved ones is a special treat. Collaborating with a customer and creating a unique piece for a special occasion is so heart warming and fun to be a part of!
Q: What made you decide to host a Lady Boss?
A: I love sharing with and learning from my creative community! Collectively we have so much experience and information, that when shared, can really benefit us all! I always feel so uplifted and energized after meeting with other small business owners!
